We went to Montreal to see Barbara.
I met Barbara some years ago through our Internet writings (blogs). We connected at some level and recognized each other. Barbara is also an extraordinarily gifted artist whose abstract calligraphy rivals that of Thomas Merton. Over the years Barbara has gifted me with many of her works of art and they now grace the walls of our home.
So, other than enjoying the view of a Montreal amusement park as we crossed the bridge, we headed straight to Barbara’s house. Barbara is everything (and more) that I knew her to be. If we lived closer, we would get together for tea or coffee every week or so, and just hash things out.
Barbara’s monk-mates, Humphrey and Bogart, are also everything she says about them.
Barbara writes (haphazardly now) at BAREFOOT TOWARD THE LIGHT.
